Connecta ("we", "us") is a social app for sharing posts, videos, stories, chats and live video, and for supporting creators. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.

1. Information you give us

• Account details: name, email address, password (stored encrypted), phone number, country, date of birth and interests.
• Google Sign-In: if you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us. We use them only to create and sign in to your Connecta account and to show your name and photo on your profile. We do not access your Google contacts, Gmail, Drive or any other Google data, and we never sell it.
• Profile content: profile and cover photos, bio, and Pages you create.
• Content: posts, photos, videos, stories, comments, reactions, chat messages, live videos and anything else you share.
• Payment details: payments are processed by our partners (Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave, NOWPayments). We never see or store your full card number. For creator payouts we store the payout details you provide (bank, mobile money or USDT wallet address).

2. Information we collect automatically

• Usage information such as posts you view, like or share, ad impressions and clicks, and the time you use the app.
• Device information such as device type, operating system and browser, and approximate location from your country setting.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How we use information

• To run the app: show your feed, deliver messages, host live video, process payments and pay creators.
• To keep Connecta safe: verify phone numbers, prevent fraud and spam, review reports and enforce our Terms.
• To personalise content and ads, for example based on the country, age range and interests you chose.
• To contact you about your account, such as password resets and monthly earnings statements.

4. Camera, microphone and photos

Connecta asks for camera, microphone and photo access only when you choose to take a photo, record or upload a video, or go live. You can turn these permissions off at any time in your phone settings.

5. Who we share information with

• Other users: your profile, posts and anything you share publicly are visible to others. Private chats are visible only to the people in them.
• Service providers that help us run Connecta: cloud hosting and storage, LiveKit (live video), Twilio (SMS codes), email delivery, and the payment providers above.
• Legal reasons: when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

• We keep your information while your account is active.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Edit profile → Delete account). This permanently removes your profile, posts, stories, comments, messages and Pages.
• Records of payments and payouts are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted passwords and access controls. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password.

8. Children

Connecta is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Your rights

You can view and edit your information in the app, delete your content or account, and ask us questions about your data by contacting us.
